VAT is a live filing requirement today, and it's attractive as a narrow, API-first product: a simple service can import a spreadsheet or accounting export, validate the return against HMRC's rules, and submit through the VAT API, without needing a full accounting suite behind it.
What VAT Bridge will do
VAT Bridge is built to take a CSV, Excel or Google Sheet export, validate the nine VAT boxes, authenticate with HMRC, and submit the return. Beyond the product itself, it's also a strategic building block: a good first implementation of the shared HMRC OAuth, submission queue, receipt and audit infrastructure every other product in our family will reuse.
Status
On our roadmap. It's next in line after our first three products, and shares infrastructure with CIS, our other HMRC REST/OAuth-based product.
