WasteTrack Simple: digital waste tracking

Priority 3 · Score 9.5/10  ·  Roadmap  ·  Mandatory from 1 Oct 2026

Digital Waste Tracking combines compulsory reporting, frequent submissions and a large number of small operators, which makes it one of the more compelling newly digitised markets. Mandatory reporting begins 1 October 2026 for permitted and licensed waste receiving sites in England and Wales, extends to Scotland and Northern Ireland in January 2027, and a wider carrier and broker beta is planned for spring 2027 ahead of carriers, brokers and dealers becoming mandatory in October 2027.

What WasteTrack Simple will do

WasteTrack Simple is designed as a mobile job workflow: waste code selection, document and photo extraction, submission, and a compliance history operators can refer back to. It's aimed at the large number of small operators this reporting requirement touches, not just the handful of large national waste firms.

Status

This is on our roadmap. Before building, we need to confirm the Defra API, authentication and sandbox details, field schema, and the correction process for submitted records.
