Identity verification for company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) is already part of the new Companies House regime. Third-party agents can become Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) to handle this on a company's behalf, but ACSP status isn't simply a software registration: the agent must also satisfy anti-money-laundering supervision requirements. Companies House has signalled further requirements for third-party presenters no earlier than November 2027.
What this product would do
The opportunity here is a compliance dashboard and verification workflow, bundled with the company administration our other Companies House products already handle, rather than a standalone identity-check tool.
Status
We're watching this one. Before it becomes a product, we need to work out the appropriate AML supervisory route, ACSP onboarding requirements, liability, record-keeping duties, and how it would integrate with the rest of our software.
